Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Blu-ray

I watched Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials last night. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sent me the Blu-ray for review on my movie blog. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is actually the second film in the series. I loved The Scorch Trials and thought it was better than the first Maze Runner movie. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is available now on Blu-ray and DVD. Continue reading to learn six things about the movie.

Six Things About the Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Blu-ray

  1. The Scorch Trials is a sequel
The Scorch Trials is the second story in the Maze Runner series. In the first story, a bunch of kids were stranded in the glades next to a maze that reconfigures itself frequently. The kids eventually escape the maze and learns why there were placed in the glades. In their world, the sun has scorched the Earth. What is left of the world is then threatened by a deadly virus that attacks the brain. Some children are immuned and represent the best chance at a cure. But in order to figure out a cure, an organization called WCKD (pronounced wicked) studies immuned kids in various situations — including placing them in deadly situations like the maze.

  2. The Gladers are looking for the right arm
For most of the story, the Gladers are on the run from WCKD. They think rebels called The Right Arm can help them. They don’t really know who The Right Arm is, but the Gladers figure they are their best chance against WCKD. It’s one of those “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” thing. In order to find The Right Arm, the Gladers have to travel across the scorched cities to get to the mountains. They think that’s where The Right Arm is hiding out.

  3. It’s a zombie movie
I have not read the books, so I was surprised to see zombies in the film. In the story, the zombies are actually called Cranks. The deadly Flare virus turns people into Cranks.

  4. Dylan O’Brien returns as the main character
Returning Gladers include Dylan O’Brien (Thomas), Ki Hong Lee (Minho), Kaya Scodelario (Teresa), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Newt), Dexter Darden (Frypan), and Alexander Flores (Winston). I thought they all did a decent job playing their characters. Other cast members include Jacob Lofland (Aris), Rosa Salazar (Brenda), Giancarlo Esposito (Jorge), Patricia Clarkson (Ava Paige), Aidan Gillen (Janson), Terry Dale Parks (Carl), Kathryn Smith-McGlynn (Dr. Crawford), Lili Taylor (Mary), and Barry Pepper (Vince). Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials was directed by Wes Ball.

  5. The Scorch Trials is rated PG-13
The 132-minute film is rated PG-13 for extended sequences of violence and action, some thematic elements, substance use and language. In my opinion, the movie is fine for most children.

  6. Maze Runner 2 include a ton of special features
The combo pack includes the movie in Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. Both the DVD and Blu-ray includes a bunch of bonus features:
