As expected, Star Wars: The Force Awakens destroyed the competition over the weekend with a record-setting gross of $248.0 million. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip opened in second place at the box office with $14.3 million. Sisters opened in third place by grossing $13.9 million. For the fourth straight week, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is at the top of the box office. Over the weekend, it grossed $11.4 million over the weekend. In the Heart of the Sea opened to a disappointing second place with $11.1 million. The Good Dinosaur remained in third place with $10.3 million. Over the weekend, the final installment of The Hunger Games brought in $102.7 million. Spectre dropped to second place again with $15.0 million.
